The crew will welcome you aboard the
Elodie with coffee and tea. As the ship sails to Harlem you will be given a
detailed explanation of the program. Just before you arrive we will
disembark for the first cycle trip. In the nice little village of Spaarndam
you will see the statue of Hans Brinker, The boy who
saved Holland. From Spaardam it is only a short cycle trip to Harlem where the Elodie will be
waiting for you. After a nice diner we will invite you for an evening stroll
along the cosy streets and monumental buildings of Harlem.
Haarlem – Lisse – Leiden

We will continue our trip by bicycle for a visit to the
Keukenhof. This flower
exhibition has everything Holland has to offer when it comes to flowers. You
may expect to be overwhelmed by colours at this time of year when most
flower bulbs show their beauty. Departing from Leiden by bicycle we
will head to little town of Voorhout. Here you will find Panorama Tulipland,
a 62 meters long an 4 meters high painting that will give you an impressive
picture of the bulb fields some 50 years ago. In 1996 , the artist, Leo van
den Ende started his enormous work of art and it is still not finished. Leo
is working on his painting almost every day so there is a fear chance you
might see him at work. After this visit we will cycle through the
bulb fields to Leiden The
oldest Dutch university towns has
a charming and lively centre.
The
Elodie lies in the centre of Leiden a good place to get acquainted with this
historical town.
Leiden – Uithoorn

We will proceed our trip through the green hart of
Holland towards Uithoorn.
Along the route you can
enjoy the views of windmills, lakes and green pastures.
We will visit a windmill in one of the little villages we pass.
Uithoorn – Aalsmeer
– Amsterdam

We will start the day early with a
visit to the flower auction in Aalsmeer. You will see the world biggest
flower auction at work. Every day the worlds market prices for flowers and
plant is being determined right here in this building. Millions of flowers
and plants find their way all over the world when the auction starts. After
this visit we will cycle back to the Elodie
for a nice boat trip over the river Amstel (or cycle along
the river) back to Amsterdam . At noon we will
take leave of you
